One cannot help but to be amazed when standing in front of the U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. Looking through my camera, I wondered: What stories could these walls tell about the spirit and enthusiasm of the city? The U.S. Bank Stadium is not only a place for games or concerts, it is also a symbol of the city’s identity. It’s a modern icon, a building that symbolizes the cityscape and spirit of Minnesota’s largest city.
I recall getting there one evening with the intention of shooting this beautiful piece of architecture. The angular lines, sharp edges, and shiny windows seemed to dare me to capture the building’s most flattering side. And as a photographer, that’s the kind of challenge I live for! Timing was important. Just waiting for the lights of the stadium to come and to breathe life into the steel and glass structure.
When I clicked the shutter button, I realized that this was not just a picture of a structure. It was about creating an image of a place that attracts thousands of people for unforgettable experiences. Packing my gear, I came to realize that, for me, it is all of that. The stadium is not just a venue, it’s a structure that has a heartbeat and is in harmony with its people. That’s what I aimed to capture in this shot: the feeling of being small in the presence of something monumental.
