Some people discover photography. I came home to it.

I grew up in my father’s darkroom – watching images appear in developer trays, learning that a single moment, captured right, could outlast everything around it. Decades later, I’m still chasing that feeling. Just now I do it with a camera across deserts, mountains, and wilderness areas all over the country.

I’m Cheri Alguire – a wildlife and landscape photographer based in Tucson, Arizona. My subjects are the ones that don’t wait: the hawk mid-dive, the last light on a canyon wall, the wide open silence of a landscape that makes you feel small in the best possible way. I’ve spent years in the field learning how to be patient enough, still enough, and present enough to catch the moments most people never see.

What I create isn’t just photography. It’s an invitation to feel something.

When someone buys a piece from me, what moves me most is knowing it’s going on their wall – that they’ll see it every single day. That the moment I caught in the field will live in their home, their space, their life. That’s not a transaction. That’s a relationship between art and the person it was made for.
