On a summer trip to the East Coast, we embarked on one of our biggest bucket list items, the great Outer Banks of North Carolina. The main attraction being the historic Cape Hatterras Lighthouse, the most famous lighthouse in North Carolina and one of the most well-known lighthouses in America.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to capture a moment that makes you hold your breath in awe? That’s exactly what happened when I photographed the Cape Hatteras lighthouse in sunny clouds. Indeed, I experienced the true essence of lighthouse majesty.
As I set up my camera, the iconic black and white stripes of the Cape Hatteras lighthouse stood tall. They contrasted beautifully against the sunny clouds. Furthermore, this lighthouse isn’t just a guide for sailors but also a symbol of resilience and history. Standing at 210 feet, it’s the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States. Its spiraling pattern looks like it climbs endlessly into the sky, standing out sharply against the bright, sunny clouds.
Capturing this image was more than just pressing a button on my camera. Instead, it was about feeling the history and power of this majestic lighthouse.
