What comes to mind when you hear “a slice of paradise”? For me, it’s the shimmering white sands and peaceful views at DiamondHead Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach, Floria. Standing there, camera in hand, I couldn’t help but think: Why does this place feel like paradise?
If only I had known that on Sepember 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian would aim is fury with a catastrophic direct hit, I would have captured more of this wonderfu, sleepy, resort town.
Looking at the calm blue waters I knew that this resort was more than just a vacation spot, it was the hero of the landscape. The graceful curve of the shoreline, with soft waves splashing the beach, seemed to lead directly to the resort’s inviting doors.
I was going to capture the soul of Fort Myers Beach, so what better place to begin than the DiamondHead Beach Resort? It’s not a question of luxury, but about feeling at home, while surrounded by the unmatched beauty of nature. Everything about the resort blends in with its surroundings — the tall palm trees, the sun-kissed balconies over the shore.
A couple of curious birds wandered into frame when I lined up shot, drawn to the soft waves on the shore. It’s almost like they wanted to get a closer look at this Fort Myers gem. The stunning pier stretching out into the distance even made that a part of the scene.
This resort is exactly where it should be, on a white sand beach, and is a testament to the beauty of Fort Myers. DiamondHead Beach Resort is right there whether you’re fishing, strolling the pier, or basking in the sun. It’s a place where time stands still, and the only job is to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
I clicked the shutter and felt like I had taken a picture of a memory, a moment of peace, with the stunning resort as backdrop and centerpiece.
