Even though it was empty, I can still feel the surge of energy as I was walking outside of Coors Field Stadium at the crack of dawn. Situated in downtown Denver, the arena seemed to pulsate under the night’s sky. It is the proud home of the Colorado Rockies and even on quiet mornings, one could still feel the buzz.
The red brickwork of the stadium gives it a traditional look and feel and looks somewhat like a baseball park. Today, the light on its walls and the clock on the entrance gave Coors Field a movie-like appearance. The American flag waved above, reminding everyone of the energy and enthusiasm felt during a game at the stadium. Just standing there you could imagine how it would sound. The crack of the bat… the roar of the crowd… the walls seemed to hum with memories.
I wasn’t just taking a picture of the building, but also the feeling it gives. How the lights were making the stadium look so beautiful amidst the backdrop of Denver was simply magical. I wanted my photo to convey the same feeling to viewers as I experienced at that moment. It is a place of celebration for fans, where endeavors are pursued, and the city’s heart beats a little faster.
Click. The shutter closed and I knew I had it. This photo would show Coors Field not just as a place but as a character in its own right. It’s funny how a stadium can be seen as just a pile of bricks and seats. But Coors Field is not just an arena, it is also a symbol of Denver Colorado and the whole region. It is not just for baseball, it’s a place where people are connected to the whole community.
So the next time you are walking around the downtown Denver area, take a moment to stop by Coors Field. Look up at the lights, feel the history, and you might see what makes this place so unique. What impressions will you create when you enter Denver’s night gem?
