Glacier National Park is 1,583-square miles in size and many claim is the most beautiful of all the National Parks. Glacier is located in Montana’s Rocky Mountains and has glacier-carved peaks and gorgeous glacier lakes, many, like this one, that are only available by hiking trails.
Trying to capture the beauty of a park as grand and beautiful as Glacier is not an easy task.
While the lower elevation sections of the park remain open all year and provide access to many locations and activities. The alpine portions are only accessible by the epic Going-to-the-Sun Road which typically is only open from early-June to mid-October.
We were lucky enough to be in the area shortly after the road and the Logan Pass Visitor Center that sits atop the Continental Divide at 6,646 feet opened for the season.
Being able to hike this park and capture the summer wildflowers was a bucket list adventure.
The year we were there, the Going-to-the-Sun Road did not open until July.
We had explored many of the lower elevation hikes, but were thrilled when the road opened 2 days before we were scheduled to leave.
I was so happy to get this shot of Summer Wildflowers in Glacier National Park!
