This New Mexico Town Has The Most Walkable Downtown

Situated along the Rio Grande in Sierra County, Truth or Consequences, known to locals simply as T or C, proves that one of New Mexico’s most walkable downtowns doesn’t need to be big to be memorable. Home to just over 6,000 residents and formerly called Hot Springs until 1950, the town has long been defined by its mineral-rich waters. Today, restored spa hotels and bathhouses line the Historic Hot Springs District along Broadway Street and neighboring streets near the river. Just a few blocks away, Main Street unfolds with galleries, cafés, breweries, and boutiques, making a downtown stroll on foot not only easy but also part of the experience, all at your own pace.
