Disney has a rival for the title of the happiest place on earth. For many, that place is now Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood. Burrowed in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, even the scenery feels different with thick forests surrounding the roller coasters, stages, and attractions. I recently visited for the first time and I was surprised by how affordable it is. Here’s what makes it stand apart.
Dollywood is more affordable than Disney
Although Dollywood isn’t exactly cheap, I was really surprised at much more affordable it was than theme parks like Disney World.
At Dollywood, a one-day adult ticket is listed $94.99. If you plan to attend more than one day, you’ll save a great deal of money since two-day adult tickets are $124.99, and 3-day adult Dollywood tickets are $134.99. Plus, there are discounts for seniors and children.
Tickets to Disney World cost quite a bit more. Admission for park-goers 10 and up starts at $119, and on some days, ticket prices soar to $186 per person.
