More than just a museum dedicated to Buddy Holly, the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas, was designed to honor the music of West Texas in general. The museum lives inside the city’s old railway depot and was designated on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It opened as a museum in 1999.
